Productivity?

This past week was really nice now that I think of it. I might have had a good time with friends but best of all I was productive. You must be growing up when you describe the good times you recently had as productive. Think about all the good times in your life... You don't really think of the times you are productive. You normally think of that cool time when you rode the Goliath at six flags with your brothers or something like crocodile hunting in Argentina and deep sea Halibut fishing in Alaska. This is what you think of but when you look back on-what seems to be- a normal week, what do you usually think about it? What made it good? Do you now find yourself saying that it was good because you finished the project that you stressed so much over. Maybe you are glad that you finally took your test on the late fee day last minute and got an "A". At this point in my life I understand my future and therefore the things that make my future brighter make me more happy in the present.

This week was really unique be cause my family came into town. I had a lot to be excited about the entire week long starting with the capture the flag game. BYUSA hosted a 1281-at least that is what we overheard someone say- player capture the flag game at the Cascade Golf course in Orem, Ut. The problem was that only BYU students were allowed to play because they checked student ID's at the door and Cameron doesn't have a recent ID card. But with the "who do you know game" I was able to pull some strings and he received permission to play. The blue team won in the end-which was the team we were on- and then we danced the night away at a big dance party for an hour or so. Then to wrap up the week Dad, Mom, Grandpa Bassett, Yvonne, Daniel, Cameron and I watched a disappointing cougar football game on Saturday. Now our chances at being national champs this year is destroyed but I'm not bitter about it. The alumni association painted all of our faces before the game just for fun. Dad, Mom, and Cameron spelled "B.Y.U" On their Foreheads and I just got a face-mask from a football helmet. It was nice to hang out with them for the weekend.

Rodeo in Blackfoot Idaho

The rodeo out in Blackfoot, ID was a blast! And I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed dressing up like a Cowboy. I bought a new pair of cowboy boots for the occasion and wore them all day without ever breaking them in beforehand. I didn't get any blisters because they were so comfortable. Thanks to my cousin Jacob, I looked like a legitimate cowboy. Not only did I look like a cowboy, but I played like a cowboy also by riding the meanest bull around for eight seconds. You can count if you want. It probably wasn't the best idea without proper attire (men will know what I mean if they watch the video) but I wasn't going to leave without giving it a shot. I must admit, I was not sure if the bull ride was six dollars wisely spent while riding but now I am glad that I did it.

First week of fall semester at BYU

I was more busy this week with errands and preparations than a one legged man in a butt kicking competition! I don't know how many times I ran to and from the Wilk and my house buying and selling text books, But I am proud to say that I am all prepared for this semester and am excited to start next week off right. I just bought a new pair of Ariat boots and am ready for a road trip to Idaho where some friends and I will have a blast at a rodeo.
