Thanksgiving

My Thanksgiving week was full of things to do. To start off I will tell about the most exciting things that I did. I hiked up to Stewart falls the day before thanksgiving with some friends that had already been up there. I wasn't prepared to hike up the falls but I decided I would do it anyway. So I hiked up the falls without any gloves to keep my hands warm or shoes to keep my feet dry. I hiked up in a pair of moccasins. I can say that I know what then Indians went through. My feet were warm for the most part until it got too wet. The worse part was that we were hiking up an almost 75 degree incline to get not just to the water fall but on top of it. At the top it made the whole hike worth it. It was beautiful to see the valley lite up with the light of the sun. That was the most exciting thing that happened. I ate my feast at my roommates house. It was great because I was able to be with good people and still feel the spirit of Thanksgiving. Then on Saturday I went to the BYU UofU game to watch my cougars bring home the trophy from the Deseret First DUEL sponsored event. Nothing like a good rivalry. It was a good vacation and now I am ready to finish strong.

Busy Provo

I haven't had too many boring weekends here in Provo. This past weekend was particularly strange. I was a little excited to just bum around a little bit because I already went on a date the night before, but little did I know that the Publicity council planned a dance party at our house. What a ussually pleasant surprise that turned into just a surprise. The great thing about it was that it still turned out to be a great dance party. We had a few babes come that don't even live in the ward along with a bunch of others from the ward that love to dance. I was happy to be able to host the dance party this past weekend. Like I said in the beginning of this blog, I find it really hard to to have a boring weekend here in Provo.

SHRM

I am responsible for organizing a job shadowing activity for the club that I am in, SHRM (the Society of Human Resource Management). Preparations for this activity were pretty much at a standstill for about three to four weeks. The issue was that the person that I needed to be talking to thought she answered me back but I never got the email. Thank goodness she didn't find a sent email addressed to me in her in box because, truthfully, I don't want it to be my fault that it didn't work out because it was my responsibility and I lost the message. But I thought I would send one last email but this time to the assistant to the VP of the corporation and I had a very nice talk with her over the phone about what it is that we are expecting from this activity and other details like time and place to meet. It is all worked out and I am actually pretty proud of myself that this didn't fall through. I still need to stay in contact until the activity actually happens but it was a huge confidence builder for any other projects I may have in the future.

Halloween

Halloween this year was so much fun. I couldn't want it any other way. We threw the biggest dance party ever here at the White House. At least it was the biggest that I have ever thrown in my college career. We had almost 130 people at one point and they were all inside dancing. Now the house is a little ghetto and the owner is a terrible man. He won't fix the windows, which should be a simple task. Anyway, it was hot because we couldn't get much air flow through the house. So if you got cold you could just go inside and visa-versa. Everyone was commenting on how cool the party was after it was over. I realize that making your mark in college isn't that important to people. I mean that popularity isn't as big a deal in college as it was in high school. But I feel like my friends and I made a mark in our college life. Now a hundred more people can consider us as a friend. That is what I got from Halloween.
